The Israeli military intercepted a missile launched from Yemen early Sunday morning, representing a renewed act of armed solidarity by the Houthis with the Palestinian resistance. The projectile caused no casualties or damage and was later claimed by Ansar Allah, as Yemen maintains both military and popular mobilization in support of Gaza.

At 2:45 a.m. local time, air raid sirens sounded across several Israeli settlements in the southern occupied West Bank and near the Dead Sea. Shortly thereafter, the Israeli army confirmed that a missile launched from Yemen had been successfully intercepted, with no injuries or material damage reported.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, reported no emergency calls were received after the alert.
The strike was later claimed by Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement—also known as the Houthis—which has consistently launched missiles and drones targeting Israeli territory and maritime traffic linked to Israel in the Red Sea since the beginning of the war on Gaza.
Although the Houthis paused their operations between June 13 and 24, amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, they resumed attacks following the continuation of Israeli airstrikes on the enclave.
Houthi officials have stressed that their operations will persist until Israel ends its military campaign in Gaza, where over 57,000 people—mostly women and children—have been killed, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
On Friday, thousands of Yemenis rallied in the provinces of Saada, Raymah, and Marib under the slogan: “Steadfast with Gaza, prepared and mobilized in the face of aggression.” Protesters voiced unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and denounced Israel’s continued assault on the Strip.
Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi reaffirmed the effectiveness of Yemen’s blockade on Israeli shipping and emphasized the country’s readiness to continue the confrontation: “We remain committed to this battle in defense of Gaza,” he said.
The latest missile launch highlights the growing regionalization of the Gaza conflict and the rise of armed solidarity movements from the Global South. As Israel continues its campaign with impunity and minimal international restraint, non-state actors like the Houthis are playing a prominent role in resisting occupation and advancing the Palestinian cause.
